I have said for sometime that America is poised on the brink of a civil war between the conservative and liberal elements. The level of animosity and bitterness coming from the Left--and YES, I'm singling out the Left--has reached levels not seen in recent memory.
I worry about the effect of such a war if it ever came to pass--the threat to my own children, the danger it would expose America to when enemies of the US see opportunity to strike--none of these things are welcome thoughts. But when I read absolutely enraging trash like what I just read today, I confess a part of me is ready to forcibly part ways with the wicked and hateful fools who occupy the "moonbat" section of the Left in America.
Sgt Leonid Milkin came home from Iraq to the unbearably agonizing reality that his family had been brutally murdered in his absence. In the comments section of a news item detailing the unspeakable agony of what has befallen Sgt Milkin, some whose wickedness seems bottomless had this to say:
Maybe he signed up for the wrong profession because who in their right mind would want to be a army man? He should have studied harder in school and found a real job instead of joining the army. Lmao , be all u can be? Don't patronize me ! People who join the army either have no education or come from small towns.. He should blame himself for his family dying due to his lack of education.
And that was just one of many.
And they say that conservatives have coarsened political discourse in America! May God in his grace have kindness on my soul and those with whom I disagree.
(HT Michelle Malkin for pointing out the HumanEventsOnline.com article)
It's disgusting that anyone would denigrate this soldier in the worst period of his life just so they can score some, in their mind, easy political points.
Since it is Washington state I'm not to doubtful that these are far left numbnuts who made these comments but they aren't exclusive to the left. I dunno if you've heard of Westboro Baptist. Those people would say the same kind of vile trash and do. They especially like doing it at the funerals of fallen soldiers.
I've always thought that the political spectrum is not a straight line it is a circle. Eventually the farther you go left or right you meet up and sound exactly the same as the person on the supposed opposite end.

I completely acknowledge that whackos come in all political stripes; I disagree, though, that there are equal numbers on the Left and Right these days. The Westboro Baptists are A MINISCULE part of the "religious right" and I wouldn't even count them as that, personally. They certainly don't resemble any Baptists I've ever seen and I've grown up some 20+ years with Baptist affiliations. With the tens of millions of Evangelicals that helped put conservatives in power, you'd be hardpressed to find abundant examples of this kind of rhetoric.
On the Left, however, you have only to visit Daily Kos and the Democratic underground, not to mention the statements from some democratically elected officials on the Left side. Recal Cynthia McKinney saying that the president knew 9/11 was going to happen and let it happen anyways? How about the countless comparisons between the Bush administration and Hitler's regime by Democrat officials? Or the Kanye Wests of the world who maintain Bush hates blacks and wants us all to die, that's why he let Katrina happen? In some circles, they even said Bush was part of a conspiracy to blow up the levees so that a catastrophe WOULD happen. No, I'm sorry but today's insanity is overwhelming from the Left, as Michelle Malkin has well documented (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0895260301/103-8174838-1360604?n=283155).

Oh I'm well acquainted with the crazy left in this country. As a white conservative (though not Republican) I'm at the forefront of their hatred. And I know all about the insane conspiracy theories and BDS that is quite popular among them.
But I hope I didn't make it seem like I was trying to push the blame away from the left-wing nuts and place it on the right-wing nuts in this country.
